All of the
library's databases are available from off campus to Douglas College students and employees.
- Students must be currently registered at Douglas College.
- Employees must be currently employed at the College.
When accessing your databases of choice, you'll be prompted to enter your last name and student or employee number. You no longer need to enter your 14-digit barcode.
Vista Some users have reported display problems when using the Ebsco databases with the Vista operating system and and IE browser. If this happens please switch to the
Mozilla Firefox browser.
Shaw
Are you a Shaw cable user? You may be experiencing difficulties if you are using Shaw cable as your internet provider and the Internet Explorer browser. If so, try the following steps:
- In your browser, click on Tools then Internet Options
- Under the Connections tab, click on the LAN settings box
- Ensure all boxes (especially Automatically detect settings) are not ticked. To remove a tick just click in the box
- Click OK and OK again and then try the databases once more
AOL Are you using an AOL browser? AOL's browser cannot be used to access the library's databases. You must connect as usual, minimize the AOL browser and open another browser. If you don't have another browser installed on your computer, you can download one of several commonly used browsers below.
Cookies
Have you enabled your computer to accept cookies? You can check the setting in Internet Explorer by clicking on Tools then Internet Options and selecting the Privacy tab.
Pop-up Blocker
Are you using pop-up blocker software? If so, make sure you set it to accept the library's URL.
