Conveniently scheduled at the same time as our Late Summer Orientation, your student can get all the information that they need while you learn the "ins & outs" of being a parent of a college student! We hope to see you at one of our Parent Orientations! University Transfer programs

How do they work?

  • take University Transfer courses at Douglas
  • earn credits for successfully completed courses

Selecting a field of study is a big decision and many new students aren't sure which path to take. Our experienced staff can help students and families discover the right choice. Select from these free services:

Academic Advisors - advisors assist students (and families) in selecting programs, admissions, course planning and graduation

Information Sessions - offered year-round, these free sessions provide prospective students and families with invaluable info on individual programs including entrance requirements, content and options for grads

Counselling - professional counsellors help current students ease personal issues and pressures that can impact student success


Student Success & Upgrading Services

Douglas is dedicated to every student's success. You can take courses for reading, writing and math upgrading for free. Our full range of services includes ESL, academic upgrading, courses for skills in college success and assistance for students with disabilities.

3 Basic Steps to Start Classes

Getting into Douglas and starting classes takes several steps - here's the overview of how things work.

1. Application
First-time students apply to the Post-Secondary Application Service of BC (PASBC). Next, you are linked to complete your application at the Douglas College website. Full instructions here.

2. Admission

  • our Registrar's Office processes your Application
  • you receive a Confirmation Letter

3. Registration

  • you select your classes by registering online at a designated time

Parking, Transit & Directions

Parking
Hourly pay parking and Student Parking Pass options are both available at each Douglas Campus (New Westminster and Coquitlam). Get more details

Transit and Directions
Many students commute to Douglas by transit. Our New Westminster Campus is located one block from the New West SkyTrain station. The Coquitlam Campus, located 1 km north of the Coquitlam Centre Mall, is served by several bus routes and will be the future terminus of SkyTrain's Evergreen Line.
